One of the best things about Christmastime in LA is that a horn quartet from Salvation Army plays music at the west end of Union Station every morning. They just stand at the end of the tunnel while rush hour commuters shuffle, stroll, or speedwalk by. Of course, they are there for donations, but they play regardless of how much they get paid and it makes me smile whenever I get the auditory reminder that they will be at the end of the hall when I get there.
